The Working Frame
They all work the same way. The difference is how each one charges, and what you actually get on the free plan.

They all work the same way. Upload a file or paste a link, the tool transcribes it, picks the moments most likely to hook people, reframes them to vertical, adds captions and exports. The difference is how each one charges.
Opus Clip. Free plan: about 60 credits a month, 1080p, watermarked, exports expire after three days. Paid starts at about $15 a month. One credit is one minute of source video.
Vizard. Free: 60 upload minutes a month, 720p, watermarked, three days of storage.
Descript. Free: 60 minutes a month, watermarked. A full editor where clipping is one of the exports.
Klap. One free video only. Paid plans are limited by clips a month and by source length. Its own blog and a reseller's list different prices, probably monthly against yearly, so check the live page.
Ssemble. Its own blog lists paid plans from about $7.50 a month billed yearly, with a credit covering a video of up to 20 minutes. I could not confirm a free plan.
How to choose
For a trial, use Vizard or Descript: the free tiers are real. For a podcast-length source, check the maximum source length before you pay. For the cheapest paid route, Ssemble claims the lowest price, but that comes from its own marketing.
Prices come from the companies' blogs and reviews, since I could not open most pricing pages. Check the live page before you pay.
